BTS’ J-Hope Shares First Military Photos on Social Media
J-Hope, a member of the popular K-pop group BTS, is currently serving his mandatory military service. Recently, the 36th Infantry Division released new photos of him dressed in his military uniform and smiling for the camera. Fans, known as ARMYs, were thrilled to see these photos and get an update on J-Hope’s status. Seeing him looking healthy and happy brought comfort to fans who miss seeing him perform on stage.

On April 18, J-Hope of the popular K-pop group BTS began his mandatory military service, following in the footsteps of fellow member Jin who enlisted in December. J-Hope reported to an army boot camp in Wonju, Gangwon Province for his 18-month duty. While fans are undoubtedly sad to see their favorite artist go, they understand the significance of fulfilling this mandatory duty for all able-bodied South Korean men. The Korean government requires all men between the ages of 18 and 28 to complete roughly 18 months of military service as a means of national defense.
J-Hope’s Busy Schedule Before Military Enlistment
J-Hope, a member of the popular K-pop group BTS, has been keeping himself busy with various projects before his enlistment. In February 2023, a documentary titled “J-Hope in the Box” was released globally on Weverse and Disney+, which showcased the making of his debut album and his appearance at Lollapalooza. He was also announced as a brand ambassador for Louis Vuitton in the same month. On March 3, J-Hope collaborated with American rapper J. Cole and released a single called “On the Street”.
J-Hope, a member of the popular K-pop group BTS, made history with his solo single ‘On the Street’. The song debuted at number 37 on the UK Singles Chart, marking the first time a BTS member had achieved a top-40 entry on the chart. J-Hope also became the highest-charting Korean soloist in the chart’s history at the time. In the US, ‘On the Street‘ earned J-Hope his highest peak on the Hot 100, reaching number 60.
