About Ajmer 92 movie Storyline:
The plot of “Ajmer 92” draws inspiration from the horrifying true events of the ‘Ajmer Case of 1992.’ This incident saw over 250 young teenage girls becoming victims of exploitation and blackmail in Ajmer, Rajasthan. The perpetrators lured these innocent girls to rural farmhouses and cottages over the course of several years, subjecting them to assaults by one or more men. Additionally, they collected explicit photos of the victims to exploit and silence them through blackmail.
The shocking revelation of these crimes came to light when a local newspaper published an article exposing the details, including some of the explicit photos taken by the rapists. The police initiated an investigation into the matter, revealing that the local government was reportedly aware of the incidents for nearly a year but delayed taking legal action. In September 1992, 18 serial offenders were charged in court, and the first eight defendants received life sentences. However, in 2001, the Rajasthan High Court acquitted four of them. Another accused, Farooq Chishti, was found guilty by a fast-track court in Ajmer in 2007 but was released in 2013 by the High Court after serving time.
