The makers of Adipurush face scrutiny from the Allahabad High Court, which questions why they are testing the tolerance of one religion. This inquiry follows the court’s approval of an amendment application filed by a petitioner who has raised multiple objections to the movie. Criticisms have been directed at the film’s dialogue, language, and portrayal of certain characters from the epic Ramayana. Manoj Muntashir, the dialogue writer, has been served a notice regarding the presence of “objectionable” dialogues in the movie.

Recent news reports highlighted incidents where certain individuals went to cinema halls showcasing the movie and compelled their closure. They could have resorted to other actions as well,” stated Justice Rajesh Singh Chauhan and Justice Shree Prakash Singh, members of the bench. They further emphasized that the Central Board of Film Certification should have taken preventive measures before granting a certificate to Adipurush.

“Should we turn a blind eye to this issue as well, just because it is believed that followers of this religion are highly tolerant? Will their tolerance be put to test?” added the bench. They also remarked, “The PIL pleas raise concerns about certain aspects of the movie’s production, particularly the depiction of revered scriptures and their significance. People recite Ramcharitmanas before leaving their homes,” as quoted by the bench.
Central Board of Film Certification is condemned by HC :
In a previous court hearing, the Allahabad High Court raised important questions regarding the role of the censor board. They inquired, “What is the purpose of the censor board’s actions? What lessons do you intend to impart to future generations?” Furthermore, the court expressed its concern about the absence of the producer, director, and other involved parties during the hearing.
A request for a ban on Adipurush :
A new petition has been filed before the Supreme Court of India, as reported by Live Law, seeking a ban on the exhibition of Adipurush. The petition claims that the movie has hurt the sentiments of Hindus and devotees of various deities portrayed in the film by “undermining their core values and altering the ‘basic structure’ of Valmiki Ramayana.”
Directed by Om Raut and featuring Prabhas, Kriti Sanon, Saif Ali Khan, and others, Adipurush was released on June 16 amidst controversy. Following criticism from the audience, the makers took the initiative to revise certain dialogues in the film.
