OAFF A Musical Revelation :
When it comes to working on independent songs, the creative process differs from that of film projects. OAFF provided insights into this journey, revealing that he had never envisioned collaborating with Armaan. He expressed his gratitude, saying, “It was an unexpected partnership, and I am immensely thankful for it. The opportunity for both of us to create something together was beyond what I had imagined.”
Further elaborating on their collaboration, OAFF shared, “Armaan and I actually never met in person until we filmed the music video. The entire song-making process was virtual, and we hadn’t spoken or communicated before that. Collaborations can be unpredictable at times.” Most of their interaction occurred through Zoom calls, allowing them to connect and work together remotely.
Armaan concurred with OAFF’s sentiments, affirming, “Sometimes collaborations click instantly, and sometimes they don’t. However, in our case, it felt like I was conversing with someone I had known for a long time.” The lyrics, “Thoda thoda sa main hu, thoda thoda sa tu bhi hain,” truly encapsulate the essence of their partnership. Armaan further explained, “We collaborated closely while also giving each other enough space to maintain a harmonious balance.”
As they sat down together to work on the audio after the shoot, a smile appeared on their faces. Armaan and OAFF couldn’t help but wonder, “Why didn’t we do this sooner?” They were fortunate to have developed such a strong bond. However, they acknowledged that not every musical collaboration unfolds in the same way.
Armaan shared his perspective, saying, “When two artists come together, there can be clashes of ego, differences in opinions, or even musical disparities. Surprisingly, we didn’t experience any of that friction. There was never an awkward moment between us.” He continued, “Sometimes people hesitate to step out of their comfort zones, but that’s where the magic happens. It’s either a click or it isn’t, and in our case, we definitely clicked.”
“I found it easy to trust Armaan because of his willingness to explore and try new things. This openness further strengthened our bond,” OAFF affirmed, expressing his confidence in the singer’s collaborative spirit.
In reaction to Gehraiyaan, the OAFF
In the past year, OAFF made his Bollywood debut with the title track of Gehraiyaan. While the film received a mixed response, its soundtrack emerged as the standout feature of Shakun Batra’s directorial venture. When asked about his reaction to the movie’s reception, OAFF reflected, “The music fared well, and I’m not dwelling on the response to the film itself. Songs are just one aspect of a movie, while there are numerous other components. I’m grateful that the songs resonated with people and that they appreciated the artistic vision. If anything, this has motivated me greatly to create more music.”
