Udd Jaa Kale Kaava Song:
Mithoon, the renowned composer, has breathed new life into the beloved romantic song, “Udd Jaa Kale Kaava,” from the 2001 cross-border blockbuster, Gadar, directed by Anil Sharma. This melodious track, which captured the blossoming romance between the lead characters Tara Singh (portrayed by Sunny Deol) from India and Sakeena Singh (played by Ameesha Patel) from Pakistan, remains etched in the memories of fans even after two decades.
The much-anticipated sequel, Gadar 2, will finally hit theaters on August 11, and the popular song has been recreated for this long-awaited release. The new rendition retains the original charm with the vocals of Udit Narayan and Alka Yagnik. The late Anand Bakshi’s heartfelt lyrics have also been preserved. While the original melody was composed by Uttam Singh, renowned for his work in Dil To Pagal Hai, Mithoon has taken charge of the recreated version, adding subtle embellishments while maintaining the essence and melody of the original song.
In the music video for “Udd Jaa Kale Kaava” from Gadar 2, Sunny Deol and Ameesha Patel, reprising their roles from the first film, beautifully revive their on-screen romance from over two decades ago. The video cleverly pays homage to the original, incorporating the iconic use of a dupatta as a prop. Set in their new home in a picturesque hill station, the visuals capture the backdrop of snow-peaked mountains. Ameesha, with her mesmerizing purple eyes, joyfully breaks into a bhangra at the song’s climax, coaxing a hesitant Tara (played by Sunny Deol) to join in the celebration.
About Gadar 2:
Gadar, the original romantic-action drama directed by Anil Sharma, unfolded against the backdrop of the Partition of India and left an indelible mark on the box office when it released in 2001. The film featured the late Amrish Puri in a pivotal role and revolves around the love story between Tara Singh, a Sikh truck driver from Amritsar, and Sakina, a Muslim girl from a politically influential family in Lahore, Pakistan.
The re-release of Gadar preceded the teaser launch of its sequel. Directed by Anil Sharma, Gadar 2 also stars his son Utkarsh Sharma in the lead roles. Utkarsh, who portrayed the role of Sunny and Ameesha’s son in the first installment, will take on a prominent part in the sequel as well.
