A court in Punjab’s Ludhiana has restrained the release of Punjabi film ‘Jodi Teri Meri’ starring Diljit Dosanjh starring late Punjabi singer Amar Singh Chamkila and his second wife Amarjot Kaur.
The film is scheduled to release on 5 May.

Civil Judge Karandeep Kaur ordered the summons to be issued to Dosanjh, actress Nimrat Khaira, Chamkila’s wife Gurmail Kaur, Karaj Gill of Rhythm Boys Entertainment Pvt Ltd and Daljit Thind of Daljit Motion Films.
The order on Tuesday came weeks after another Ludhiana court restrained the “broadcast, release and streaming” of another biopic on the couple, titled ‘Chamkila’.
Chamkila and Amarjot Kaur were shot dead on 8 March 1988 during militancy in Punjab.
Stay Order on the film:
“From the documents, a prima facie case is made out in favor of the plaintiff (Ishdeep Randhawa). The balance of convenience is also in her favor and if the defendants are not restrained from releasing the film ‘Jodi Teri Meri’, an irreparable loss will be caused ” be due to the plaintiff, which cannot be compensated at any cost,” the order says.
“Accordingly, the respondents are restrained from releasing the film on May 5, except for the legal process till the next date of hearing (May 8),” the order said.
