What happened at wrestlers’ protest?
The wrestlers are unhappy with Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh, the head of the Wrestling Federation in India. They have been protesting against him for a while at a place called Jantar Mantar. They want him to be arrested for supposedly doing something bad to someone. Wrestlers and police pushed each other when some people tried to break through the barriers. Vinesh Phogat, her cousin Sangeeta Phogal and Sakshi Malik were part of this. They and some other people were stopped at the protest.
According to reports, the wrestlers were forced onto buses and taken to unknown places. The police in Delhi took away the things and equipment that the protesters had with them, like beds, fans, and a cover, on the day when the Prime Minister showed the new parliament building.
They were arrested for breaking the law. Mr Deependra Pathak, who is in charge of making sure laws are followed, said that we will do an investigation and then take legal action at the right time. Pooja Bhatt, who is an actor and producer, wrote on Twitter that male priests were escorted respectfully through the parliament. Women athletes are being treated badly while walking on the streets. What emotions should we stay with or feel, like happiness, sadness, or feeling good or bad about ourselves.
