World Ocean Day Sonakshi Sinha enjoys visiting beautiful and undisturbed beaches all over the world. She feels better when she goes on deep diving trips. Today, on World Ocean Day, she is talking about how important it is for people to learn about keeping the oceans clean and healthy. Sonakshi goes to Maldives every year to have fun underwater.
Sonakshi Sinha is a certified scuba diver. Sonakshi Sinha enjoys traveling to the Andamans, Goa’s beaches, Ratnagiri, and Visakhapatnam. Having a healthy ocean is really important for our environment because if the water isn’t blue, then we won’t have green land. But right now, global heating is causing damage to the plants and corals in the ocean, which is turning them white. People leave rubbish on beaches and there is a lot of plastic in the water. It’s crucial to pick up trash and maintain a clean beach. We should stop using plastic that we only use once and tell people about it more.
World Ocean Day Sonakshi Sinha: We must work harder to protect our oceans.
Sonakshi Sinha People are now cleaning up the beaches, which helps more people to use them. When we look at beaches in other countries that are clean and clear, it reminds us that we need to work harder to protect our oceans. When we go to sunny beaches in other countries, there are many rules we have to follow. They are very good at looking after their oceans and we should learn from them.
When I am swimming deep in the water and spot plastic, I grab it, attach it to my diving suit, and throw it away when I get to the shore. Whenever I ride my jet ski and I notice a bottle floating in the water, I stop to grab it and throw it away in the correct spot.
At night, the ocean looks and feels very different.
When I am underwater, all the noise goes away and I feel like I am in a different world. I feel very calm and relaxed when I swim underwater. It’s a really nice and relaxing feeling. Things look different in the daytime and nighttime. I felt amazed when I went snorkelling at night. I watched the eels come out of their homes. They looked nice but also frightening, but they didn’t get too close to you.
At night, the ocean looks and feels different. It is very large and dark in that place. I have never gone scuba diving at night before. You need to be brave because they only have one light on their head, and you can only see what’s in front of you. Everything else is dark, like being in space. In the daytime, I went swimming and saw turtles, different types of sharks, crabs, starfish, and other sea creatures. The world is wonderful.
