Adipurush Box Office collection Day 13:
The box office journey of the much-talked-about film “Adipurush” directed by Om Raut and featuring Prabhas, Saif Ali Khan, and Kriti Sanon seems to be nearing its end as it recorded its lowest collection on its 13th day at the theaters. On Wednesday, the film collected only around ₹1.5 crore, marking a significant decline in its earnings. With the release of the new Hindi film “Satyaprem Ki Katha” starring Kiara Advani and Kartik Aaryan, “Adipurush” will now face competition starting from Thursday. Additionally, “Lust Stories 2” will also be released on the same day but on Netflix.
According to reports, “Adipurush” has amassed a total domestic collection of approximately ₹281 crore across all languages, with the recent day’s collection contributing to that figure. However, it remains uncertain if the film will be able to surpass the ₹300 crore mark in India, especially considering the new competition at the box office.
Despite making changes to certain dialogues in the film, such as altering “Kapda tere baap ka (the cloth belongs to your father)” to “Kapda teri Lanka ka (the cloth belongs to your Lanka),” the drop in box office numbers for “Adipurush” has remained consistent. The film continues to face severe criticism for its colloquial dialogues and portrayal of characters from the Ramayana, leading to a backlash and affecting its performance.
Adding to the controversy, the Allahabad High Court recently criticized the makers of “Adipurush” for their portrayal of Ramayana characters, calling it a “very shameful manner.” The court raised concerns about the treatment of religious texts and questioned why movies like “Adipurush” are made when they disturb religious sentiments. The court drew a comparison, suggesting that if a documentary were made on the Quran, it could lead to serious law and order problems, highlighting the tolerance of Hindus despite the controversy surrounding the film.
As the box office journey of “Adipurush” nears its end, the film continues to face challenges and controversies that have impacted its collection and public reception.
