An Indian online series called Gullak, which translates to “Piggy Bank,” was made by Shreyansh Pandey for SonyLIV under the The Viral Fever (TVF) imprint. The Mishra family—Santosh and Shanti Mishra, their sons Anand “Annu” Mishra and Aman Mishra—is the focus of the television series, which stars Jameel Khan, Geetanjali Kulkarni, Vaibhav Raj Gupta, and Harsh Mayar in the aforementioned key roles, with Sunita Rajwar as their neighbour.
On June 27, 2019, the first season’s episodes all aired simultaneously on Sony Liv and TVF Play, the streaming services operated by the TVF. The audience responded favourably to the show.
A second season of the show was ordered, featuring mainly new cast members. Anurag Saikia and Simran Hora created the soundtrack, Durgesh Singh served as the series’ principal writer, and Palash Vaswani served as its director.On January 15, 2021, the second season of the show began airing on Sony Liv.
