Plea Filed Against Actor Vinayakan :
An application has been lodged with the Kerala High Court, requesting the issuance of directives to Indigo Airlines regarding the alleged misconduct of Malayalam cine actor Vinayakan towards a fellow passenger at a boarding gate of an airline-operated flight. The individual who was reportedly subjected to the abuse by Vinayakan filed the plea after the incident occurred at the Goa airport, while waiting to board an Indigo flight.
According to the petitioner, he was engrossed in watching a video during the pre-boarding period when Vinayakan, who happened to be on the same flight, began verbally assaulting him. The actor accused the petitioner of secretly recording a video of him.
The petitioner argued that despite clarifying that no video was taken and offering to let the actor inspect his phone, Vinayakan persisted in verbally attacking him. After reviewing the plea, the court instructed the petitioner’s counsel to include Vinayakan as a respondent in the petition
In addition, the petitioner expressed his profound distress over the incident and revealed that he had initially approached the airline regarding the matter but received an unsatisfactory response. Consequently, he proceeded to file a complaint through the Airsewa portal with the Deputy Secretary of the Ministry of Civil Aviation.
However, the petitioner’s efforts yielded little progress as the complaint was closed with a response from Indigo Airlines’ Customer Experience Expert, stating that their involvement is limited once the passenger has disembarked. Subsequently, the petitioner approached the High Court, seeking a directive to both Indigo Airlines and the Deputy Secretary of the Ministry of Civil Aviation. The petitioner urged the court to ensure that his complaint and representation are duly considered within a specified timeframe.
