Salman Khan starrer trailer of Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan leaves us with extremely mixed feelings. It’s like Salman Khan picked the worst moments out of a nearly three-hour full-length feature, just to tell us that it can only get better from here.
At the trailer-launch, Salman joked, “Agar ye picture nahi chali toh pura bill mere pe fatega, and the director Farhad Samji would say, ‘Yahi hai woh aadmi jiske wajeh se picture Nahi chali’. I still have the original script (If the film doesn’t work, he will say it’s my fault. I still have the original script).
Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan is a remake of Tamil blockbuster Veeram:
Salman was clearly referring to the origin of Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan. The film is based on the 2014 Tamil blockbuster Veeram with star Ajith. But Veeram was being remade in Hindi as Bachchan Pandey at one time. Bizarrely, director Farhad Samji decided to change the remake plans. Instead of Veeram, Bachchan Pandey went on to remake another Tamil hit Jigarthanda, while Veeram was offered to Salman Khan. It eventually became Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan.
Let’s hope it turns out to be more successful than Bachchan Pandey. Salman Khan and his co-star Pooja Hegde are well matched in the trailer as Rupert Murdoch and his latest fiance.
